There's no eyepiece with this baby, as it's a USB microscope that displays specimen images on the computer screen. I had to build a Windows XP virtual machine so they could run it under Windows 7 other than that under Windows 10 you might have to forget them.
As with the QX3, the QX5 can take digital images; these can be still shots, time-lapse video and movies. The author sat the microscope on a small 'cold' light box used for viewing 35mm slides and this offered a very even white light and bright enough to be used up to x shown right. The software also controls the light source automatically, resulting in the automatic color balance sometimes bleaching images out by making them too light.
